Safety tips for travelers, to help make a vacation worry-free
In today’s world, especially now with the Coronavirus-19 so prevalent worldwide, travelers should take extra steps before booking any trip.
One of the first safety tips for travelers to follow – before making any plans – is to check the websites of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and US Department of State.
The CDC site contains general up-t0-date information on Travel Health Notices, as well as health alerts for individual countries throughout the world.
Complementing the CDC’s efforts is that of the State Department, which provides in-depth information on Safety and Security Alerts and Travel Advisories worldwide. The State Department can also provide you safety and security information while you are traveling through its STEP Program, which both provides up-to-date safety and security information and lets the department reach you in an emergency abroad.
Both are excellent resources for both planning a trip and taking it. And older travelers should always take precautions while traveling. Read about them in Safeguarding Your Health and Finances While Traveling.
