There are many Civil War reenactments all over the U.S. and Europe every year. They’re fascinating, ;ike this one at Roaring Camp Railroad in California…see for yourself.

Every year all over the United States, there are many battles reenacted about the infamous “war between the states.” Amazingly, however, they’re not of interest only to history buffs; many travelers are attracted to them, as well, including this “battle” at Roaring Camp Railroad in California.
Throughout the U.S. there are many American civil war reenactors, the actors who play parts in the reenactments. Actually, it’s not just an American phenomena. You’ll also find reenactments of U.S. Civil War battles in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and other countries.
All things considered, it’s often very good theater, and you have the opportunity to have a front-row seat (bring your own), as you’ll see for yourself here.
Meet the Reenactors
But the reenactments often don’t just happen on the battlefield. Around some of these battlefields little tent towns spring up for the soldiers. Accordingly, other people also “live” in the towns near where the battles take place. Additionally, many of them are also reenactors and wear period dress and take on roles. Many play their roles well, that of a mid-19th century American. In Roaring Camp we not only met many of these village folk, but also President Abraham Lincoln!
The two reenactments in this video took place at Roaring Camp Railroad in Fenton, California and at Fort Moultrie National Monument, Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina. They are exceptionally entertaining.
